3.0l CRD 2009

Took off the black cover as yesterday I was losing power like it was starving and black smoke when trying to give more power. So looking for air leaks and noticed fuel sitting at the top of the injectors.. pic attached..

Anything I can do before i have to take it to a workshop?

Very dumb question mate, but are you sure it is diesel accumulating there ??
When. I had my 2009 crd water used to sit there for ages and first time I took the cover off and looked under the intercooler I sort of panicked but it was only rain water that gets through the IC and sits there until it evaporates.

Hmmm have the injectors ever been worked on ? Would the high pressure lines to them come loose maybe ?/

checked all the fittings and they are all tight.. just soaked up all the diesel and went for a run.. will go out later and then check it again..

don't risk it - CRD runs very high pressure fuel into the rail. Fuel issues is the no1 killer of CRD engines. If you don't know what your doing with it, need to get it checked by a mechanic who knows CRD engines ASAP

Same problem!
In the last week while trying to find the dreaded squealing sound on my vehicle, I found the same thing.
Fuel pooling around number 2 injector, cant see where it is coming from.

I was going to post a question about it, but as you have the same problem hopefully someone may be able to give some advice
as to what is causing it and if it can be fixed yourself or taken to a specialist.
I soaked up the fuel with a paper towel, it had about a teaspoon full of diesel sitting there.

Started have a good look to see where this fuel is coming from.
It appears to be weeping out the small pipe that goes to the injector. (fuel spill hose)
It has small o'rings where it fits into the injector.

Shopped around and could not find anyone that kept o'rings that small so I decided to order a new hose.
Part Number: N*16672MA70A. Retails at $60.

When I replace it, the plan is to measure the o'rings and try and get the correct size and keep for spares.
