G'day folks,

This ute has come up for sale today, I
went for a look and it looks ok.

There is a few spots of rust but nothing major. The down side is the rego has ran out so it needs to be re licensed which will probably be an issue mainly because of the exhaust system on it, its straight through to a couple of stacks behind the cab sounds bloody awesome but will it cause dramas going over the pits?

Its also lifted with 35's so there's another possible drama for the rego.

He asking $6200 which seems like a alright price to me.

I've been looking for a GQ for a while and I want to get rid of my GU but i dont know if its worth my trouble if this ute will be a pain to get rego.

Any thoughts or opinions will be appreciated.

Paul.

Without question the Most Important information you require is "has the vehicle been Engineered for he chop and lift? Is there a mod plate."

If the answer is No then give it a lot of thought and investigate finding an Engineers and cost of inspection and certification.

Cheers mate its definitely engineered for the engine conversion but yeah im not sure about the chop or lift. More checking is required me thinks. Lucky the bloke selling it lives across the road.

If you need to make any changes to have it pass the pits with engineering and new parts that $6200 can turn out to be $10000. If that's the case then you can buy a Great GQ for $10000 without the issues of Rego and the authority continually asking you to come in for a vehicle check. Heavily modded trucks here in TAS continually get asked to be inspected to see what else has been done and is a pain in the ass.
