Hi all, not sure if this has been asked before, but does it do any damage or increase wear or anything if driving with the E-A/T switch on HOLD. I'd like to prevent kickdown from working the throttle, but still want the gear shifts based on drive and engine speeds. I'm not wanting to stay in a higher gear at lower speeds, I just don't want to shift down a gear and have the engine start screaming just because I push down a little harder. I already use the HOLD for that, but I always switch it of when shifting or at low speeds, is this necessary?
Also, I can't seem to get lockup when in low 2nd or drive. It only locks in OD. Is this normal? Does having the OD off disable the lock up? Any help will be great.
Cheers, Dylan.

Ive done a bit of driving since that post and have noticed a few things about the EAT switch. It completely ignores the kickdown switch and TPS and so shifts and engages lockup in the gear that is appropriate to the vehicle speed and engine speed - regardless of the load. When driving around town and highway driving (unladen) is this bad for the trans? The temps dont seem to rise due to the extra load and I can still manually select the gear it drives in. Still not sure about the lockup in 2nd and thirds though.
