Cheap longrange Aux Subtank

Hi there I got this long-range Aux sub tank cheap of Gumtree for $80.00 and I was wondering if anyone knows of this tank? It has no name and I need to know what all the holes are for so I can try and fit it in the GU any help would be great thanks Pete 61158

I don't think a gq aux tank will fit in the gu unfortunately mate.

Don't quote me but I remember reading about this many moons ago from someone else who tried.

Ive heard the same things as others that the gq aux wont fit unfortunately. If it does however it will be interesting to know as I'm constantly keeping my eyes of and all i see is gq tanks. Apparently the rear main tank is the same and will fit though.

Well that's disappointing and a little dumb! You could have just gone to the intros and said g'day to someone..... Or not.

I was going to ask you to post up pics of the fit up as plenty would be interested as I also understand a GQ tank won't go into a GU. Sub tanks only. This posts suggest your not interested though. Hope the manual is helpful. The members here are far more helpful than the manual though but good luck with that. Bit pissed to be honest mate.!!

No one called you dumb mate, MR said the post was dumb..... and pics were asked for if you were successful in fitting the tank......... just be careful on how you read the written word, as they can quite easily be taken out of context.


Oh and I seriously doubt if the manuals will help in this situation. ....... if a member on here new for sure that the tank would fit, then no doubt they would have said so. But I'm not even sure if anyone here can tell you for certain. So I would think, if you've already bought the tank, why not try and position it.

FWIW Peter. My GU long range sub tank is different to yours. The top section on yours looks taller than mine.

I plan on playing with the tank tomorrow and I need help hence the manual but im feeling its now worth it from the great feedback im getting (oh and im not being sarcastic) I really appreciate the advice

Maybe, i have the same sorta section on mine, but its not a tall as yours. Im tipping its not gonna fit. It takes arou d an hour to remove the oem tank so you could remove it and see. I had to fab up a bracket for the rear inner section but Bunnings came to through with what i needed.

Looking at the pic i reckon i wont fit. On mine theres a cut out section on the end where the tank sits around the right hand top control arm. Plus you need bent upper control arm fitted too. So it doesnt hit the tank when that side of the diff is flexed.

the expansion chamber is lower in the pic hmmm easy to chop and I can chop out a section for the arm may need to do a mock install and flex the car up a bit

Your options, and there are a couple.

Hang here and adjust your attitude a little and the membership will help over and over again.

Buy a manual online and join one of the many Facebook groups full of flogs and try your luck.

Go to your local mechanic.

This is a great place mate, have another read of the PM I sent you because clearly you read it with your back up. Take a breath and read it again. We are all very protective of our laid back place and a bad attitude will get called out quickly. As you can see.

Consider this.

Imagine.

You walk into a room and standing there are a group of mates that have known each other a long time. Your new. You walk up to the group and say Gday. Everyone says Gday and they make some space so you can stand in the circle.
