Most ppl will use a spark plug with a higher heat range,
on dual fuel motors, plus advanced timing for gas

Yep that's correct.
I've just put in platinum plugs, but you can use the standard ones. I don't want to do the job again in a hurry. Just make sure that it's a #6.

I changed the plugs plus reduced the spark plug gap to .7mm instead of 8 it now seems less responsive on gas as well as sputters at 3k revs

I'm going through the same.
After tappet adjustment perfect right through the rev range pass 4000 on patrol, gas still blogs down a little but big improvement.
Due for a service at the gas place. Will speak to them about it. Maybe needs timing to be advanced a little.

I know that mine gets stuck on occasionally and it'll idle at about 1200 rpm. I just flick it with my finger and it's right again. I'm not willing to start pulling it apart because it'll probably end in tears lol
tappa lives!
