HI there
I have a 2010 Nissan Patrol ST duel fuel wagon with the original 275 65 17 mag wheels and tyres. I do not go off road. I bought this vehicle to tow boats and caravans. Looking for advice on quality replacement tyres suited for highway use and occasional towing. Disappointing with the current life of the desert duellers, 53000 kms, and their poor grip especially in wet weather. My current usage is < 10000 km a year.
Prepared to pay up to 350 each. Just had a puncture so rather than spend 30 on a repair , looking to bring forward my new tyres purchase
Thanks for any suggestions.
Have a good day

I had a great run from Cooper ATRs good on fuel, quiet as well
What you need is a HWY pattern in a LT construction

I put a set of Goodyear HT tyres on my GQ in place of a set of AT s that were too noisy on freeways even though they still had about 7 to 8 mm tread on them. Boss is much happier traveling in the GQ now.
Not sure where you are but Goodyear here has a buy three get one free deal here at the moment and its probably country wide. They also do a free rotation and balance every 5000km but will charge for a wheel alignment if you need one. I didn't even need one when they changed from the ATs to the HTs.
Much quieter tyre, just not as flash as the Coopers and Bridgestones etc but so far so good and they were bloody cheap when you get one free and average the price over the four wheels.
Cheers

PS main use is daily driver and boat (2 tonne +)

no harm done but can you pop over to the intro's please just something the forum asks of us all. polite and all.
As for your tyres avoid HT tyres they are not strong enough and have less tread to start with, OE tyres are HT construction
welcome aboard too enjoy

my old man swears by his Yokohama Geolanders but he does own a Pajero, he's about to put on his 3rd set.

Having read the comment above I admit to a twinge of concern.
However there appears to be more to it, so I am OK again now after reading some of this, https://www.google.com/search?q=HT+tyre+specs&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=ht+tyre+specs+australia

Currently thinking of Bridgestone 697 At Lt or Toyo open country AT2 LT. I have no prices as yet, although a friend with a landcruiser 100 series has just bough Kuhmo road venture and I will check them out as well.
Thanks for the advice
