G'day all. I have had
a chance to shove the
inspection camera into
the Old Trol's chassis.
There are a few spots
of surface rust on the
bottom section.
Is it a good thing to
spray some Feronite
in and letting it do
its thing, or is
just spraying fish oil
in going to be okay?
Is there a better product that
kills rust and sets hard?

I live in England so i now a (lot) about rust i would say you relay don't have to do anything to the chassis because the body and body mounts rust first.

But i hate rust so the absolute best you can do without removing and dipping the chassis is to spray it with ACF-50 oil and then with a wax.

ACF-50 is the best creeping oil there is at stopping rust and preventing rust i have personally tested it. and ACF-50 is synthetic so no animals where killed. :)

Here is there website:

http://www.blockchemical.com/electrical

It looks the goods, but is
only effective for 12 months.
and there seems to be
QLD stores only.

I wonder of after applying
this stuff, you could
spray a coat of fish
oil to give a more
permanent surface?

Bigfella sells a product that stops rust ,or at least prevents it.
Been so long think it was called shark skin , or similar,.

Cavity wax (slows rust and prevents rust very well) is the best for long lasting protection. i use ACF-50 on rust (stops rust) first and then wax everywhere else.

ACF-50 is made in Canada.
