I cut a hole of about 30mm and fitted a rubber grommet in the hole. The squeezed through a 1inch OD copper joining pipe, can be had from Reeces, sealing it up to with a good silastic. and then on the engine bay side I slipped some convoluted tubing over the 1inch copper pipe thats now exposed on the firewall, and ran the tubing up and onto the inner wheel arch. So all my wires had an easy path into the cab.
I have pics no doubt somewhere if you want...

I ran wire through the Passenger side, as well as some on the drivers side
if you have a DX - drivers side, where the Arial cable goes through
if you have ST
passenger side - same thing

you can use a firewall terminal to get the power safely through the firewall off ebay.
