I recently traded my 08 Pajero in on a GU3 4.8, auto. The Paj was a great car. did most tracks (up to medium difficulty) pretty easy. What let it down was the poor wheel articulation. I wanted something a bit more old school, and was impressed with strength of the Patrol's drive train (and solid front and rear axles). The GU3 seemed to me to be easily modifiable with an almost unlimited range of aftermarket gear. I also looked at 100 series Landies, but was concerned about their weak front diff. And besides, the Patrol 4.8 is a far more powerful and torquey engine.

I found, what looked like a really nice stock GU3 at a dealership, with 110,000k on the clock. It does run on LPG. It's the old mixer type.
