Hey guys,
I have a long range petrol tank(not quite long range, only 68 litres or so). It's connected to the filler via a plastic/fibre glass filler hose, which appears to have shrunk over time, in length. The result is the filler hose not going in all the way into the tank filler pipe, and petrol tend to drip. I've temporarily band aided the situation by rapping a bicycle tube around it with glue. I can never fill the petrol tank anymore than 10-15 litres. Going up a hill, petrol going back towards the filler hose and leaks from the poor connection.
The obvious answer is to replace the filler hose.
Is there an alternative hose that I can use to replace it.
The original one was installed by Long range tank installation place. But, they want a fortune for a new filler hose. I'm not even sure whether the filler hose actually shrunk or rather it was cut too short and poorly installed.
Either way, I need a replacement. I tried pulling on it to get bit more length to insert into the tank pipe, but to no good.
Any ideas?
Thanx
