Wanted to get thoughts from the more experienced about switching over my electronic pump on my RD28Ti to a manual pump. I have an appointment with the diesel specialist tomorrow and am almost guaranteed to need a pump and injector rebuild. If I am prepping the Patrol for extreme cold-weather use, would a manual pump be better or stick with the default electronic setup?
I can see several benefits for using a manual pump (easy to rebuild without a diesel shop nearby, set it and forget it), but not sure the advantages of the electronic. If a couple of you could weigh in here with thoughts and suggestions, I would appreciate it.
