Hi all,

Is green transmission fluid symbolic of cvt?
Cvt has to the best of my knowledge friction additives?

So if you've been following my diagnosis saga has me certain that the issue is transmission
I have a leak and I have discovered the fluid on the dip stick I purchased is green and the leak is same.

What this would then say is the "transmission specialist" who had the truck for ages immediately prior to my collection and the sale put cvt in the transmission and its basically destroying it?

Can anyone please verify the cvt being green factor?

Ok rang Penrite tech support and there is no rule but green denotes a non standard atf and my suspicion may be correct - total fluid change in a few hours... Fml

Not sure if this has been discussed but I've just learnt why nissanmatic j has been discontinued

Matic J was found to eat away the trans cooler in radiator. So they extended the warranty in the radiators to 8 years or 80k miles. If this condition happens where the trans cooler fails, coolant will enter the trans and contaminate it.

So maybe that's why mine is green?
