Hi, could anybody tell me if they have fitted a new clutch to a 1984 SD33 series 3.2litre Diesel patrol?
Is this something that is not too hard to do at home?
thanks Ian.

You need to have a fair mechanical knowledge to do a clutch yourself, as well as a couple of trolley jacks (an engine lift crane in through the front door can help as well but not essential) and preferably a few mates to help you move the gearbox around. They are a big heavy cast iron case gearbox. You need to know how to line up clutches as you put it back together as well.
Where are you?

Ian if you are doing clutch, go to Kennards Hire or someone like that and hire a transmission jack suitable for bigger vehicles. Make life easy.

Hi Tony, I am about 60kms from Melbourne past Gisborne. I don't possess that much mechanical knowledge, but was keen to give it a go. Sounds like a bigger job than I thought....
thanks Tony.
