Hi,
I have just finished replacing the Auto transmission fluid in my 93 GQ patrol transfer case.
By the way, it needed it, as it came out a brown reddish colour.
The general consensus is that it should take 2.2 liters to fill, the info on the suppliers web site says 2.2 liters, my manual said 2.0 liters.
It actually took about 1.6 liters to fill it to overflowing.
Is it the angle of the car or something else that makes such a difference.

Thanks,

Neil.

Hey Threedogs, I even tried raising the 4by on the passenger side to raise the filler hole but the transfer case was soo full it still came out of the filler hole.
I will keep an eye on it in a few weeks and see how it goes.

If its coming out the hole I wouldnt stress to much. Most capacities given in most manuals are first fill capacities so have never had oil before. You can never get all of it unless you strip it down.

I could only get about 1.4 into mine. It overflowed so I was happy enough.

Thanks Guys,
That makes me feel a little better about the amount that went into mine.
