Looking for some advice.
Its time to do the wiring of the gu patrol. The control unit that came with the engine was part 23710 vb200 which takes care of the Egr, Glow plug, Ac cut out, Electric Fan, engine Rotation sensor and tachometer. Have tried real hard but cant seem to locate a wiring diagram for the above mentioned unit.
Keeping in mind that engine harness is of td42t3 and the dash harness is that off zd30. Any help regarding this would be appreciated.

The pin structure in the control unit is jack one 10 plus 10, and jack two 8 plus 8. Total 36 pins to play with.

Wouldnt you block the EGR?

You could block the EGR.
You can also join the wires in pins 15 & 21 on the ZD30 ECU plug to get the A/C to work.
For the glow plugs for my conversion I bought a OEX aftermarket controller.

according to the diagram I found so many things are related to this control unit. I am already running the ac directly by overpassing the ecu, and for glow plugs I already have a timmer switch. But what to do about the other stuff. engine rotation sensor, water temp sensor, tachometer, ac cut off, ...

And yes EGR will eventually be blocked by a plate at the end. How important is the other stuff I wonder?

If this was 2001 I would have asked for their number and called em straight away as I was living in Melbourne at the time, but now I am far away at the other end of the world. Thnx for the reply.

Which water temp sensor are you referring to? If you're retaining the ZD30 instrument cluster, use the single wire temp sensor from the ZD30 engine. It screws into the TD42T thermostat housing and gives the correct gauge reading.
Temp sensor for EGR you don't care, get rid of it.
A/C high temp cutout on the TD42T (not TD42Ti) was a temp sensor in the bottom of the radiator so that shouldn't be hard to set up. I don't plan on using one for my installation, I'll simply switch it off if my temp gauge shows me it needs to happen.

For tacho, you could install the 4.2 unit if you got it with the front cut from Japan. Otherwise you might need to get a Dakota signal modifier, I'm not really sure how the ZD30 conversions handle tacho issues.

Do you have electronic control on the injector pump? Why would you need an engine rotation sensor?

Did you remove the inlet manifold to have a look inside? That will probably need some serious cleaning out after you block the EGR.

I think the diagram is off a gu or gq with a A/t tranny so some of the things in that diagram should be ignored.
Will be looking in to the egr after the wiring is done.
Not so sure about the ECU for injector pump will look in to it and get back to you.
With the jap cluster I wont get sub fuel tank meter so sticking to the the zd30 cluster.
Wanted to attach the control unit to the engine and get the most I could get from it as close to the original.
But the other way around seems like the only option I have got.

I didn't mean you should change the whole ZD cluster, just the tacho unit so you have the 6 cylinder tacho in place of the 4 cylinder.

to be honest didn't know it could be done but thanks will look in to it now. Thnx @ Jff45

Update on the troll. It has a mechanical pump, so engine rotation sensor is history. The AC at the moment is running directly bypassing the control unit. Cluster temp needle seems to be working but does not go above the 50 % mark even with the AC on. Fuel Gauges, main and sub seem to be ok.
Trying to figure out a way to work the vacuum hoses for EGR that also control the butterfly and fuel cut solenoid I think without EGR. Used a 1kzte ECU to give power to glow plugs, butterfly for engine shut off and RPM. Glow plug and butterfly worked but RPM became alive but not stable.
4x4 light not working engine check light not working glow plug timer ( spring light in cluster) not showing.
Any idea?
