Hi my 1999GU Patrol front passenger window is not working. The auto electrician says it needs a new switch. Does anyone know roughly how much a new switch costs? Thanks.

You could try pulling apart and cleaning.. thats what I've done in the past.. A new one off ebay is around $65 from memory.. It's pretty common.

Yeah quite common... more often than not it just the contacts that are dirty or burnt. If your confident and have steady hands and a small enough flat vladed screw driver you can pull them apart, clean the contacts and add some dielectric grease or vaseline then reassemble.
I did one of mine a while back and hasn't fail again.

as mudski said i have done about 20 repairs in the area for other patrol owners and the hardest part is getting the arm rests off for the first time
and then they become easier to take off

The main panel and a rear door button was stuffed so I bought a second hand Nissan wing-road 06, master panel and a single switch and replaced. Perfect match.
