Hi all I dont have, one dont need one either for that matter ,
Just interested what PPL have, my bar is 240watt spot beam.
All the newer bars seem to have spread on the ends. Im happy
with the side light from my bar.
lets hear what you have and what you think

I've got the 40 inch led light co aurora style roof mounted via Paul in vendors thread it's not curved but is combo and it lights my peripheral perfectly - I'm trying to label the switch sunshine on and off..,. Mate has a curved bar he swears by but it's on a cruiser so he swears a lot!

Straight 240 watt 100% spot bar on my truck and it works great...

Certainly don't see any need for combo beam or curved bar

Had a good chat with Paul from LED LightCo about his curved bars and I will be fitting one to my GQ. I am going to sell the 42" light bar I have now with the light rack as a package as my new rack will be weld on. He says they are awesome.

I will run a 40" single row under the roof rack on the GUIV in the coming months too.

I'll post up in the vendor thread pics of the light mine throws and where it's mounted later today

Have a chance to buy 10 watt cree single row light bars, 45" and 37" well any size really.
I was up at TJM yesterday talking about light bars and seems the 10 watt cree single row
throw a beam about 900mtrs up the road well thats what they say,
waiting to get an email back from my supplier on the distance to light goes on a spot beam bar.
45" seems a bit long for a roof rack mount, again wont be needing a combo beam ,
as we all know any light bar throws out great side light.
Maybe I'll design a gutter mount for the light bar? so it can sit forward of the roofrack
dont want to mount it on a Rhino rack either
Sadly the 240 watt bar is 52" long, the 200 watt is 45" , and the 160 watt is 37"

If you're thinking gutter mounts, then the 52" is the perfect size.

My 240 watt (24 x 10 watt Cree) 30 deg Spot Single Row Bar is just over 38 inch's long and fits perfectly flush under the roof rack with about 10mm clearance to the roof at the middle.

I can't see objects smaller than a house or a road train 900 metres away at night.
If TJM mean cats eye reflectors, signage etc then I would agree, they def show up that far out.
IMHO the 'useful max range' is about 400 metres.
At that distance you can start to recognize larger animals, scrub, road verge, etc
At about 200 metres you can pretty reliably pick up the difference between a Roo and a small shrub

Note... roof mounted bars (beside being illegal) REALLY piss off truckies, other road users etc when coming at you at night when they crest a hill etc.
The Bar light is so "white" it means you don't see the loom of their vehicle until after their headlights appear

I am considering a 390 watt (78 x 5 Watt) twin row '36 inch with the 10 deg/40 deg combo lens to replace my HID spotties on my Bull Bar.

Only catch is the significantly large current draw.

That would mean I have my "Highway Bar" on the Bull bar, legal and narrow beam
and
My "Off road Bar" would stay on the rack which is the best possie by far for the bush and I can put a cover on it to keep Mr Plod happy if he gets cranky

Was the light bar maker making the claim not TJM.
I'll end up getting some single row 200 watt spot beam 45" ones.
Then realised the price was in US$ good as it was Im going to wait.

bit OTT with 390 watts most ppl are happy with 100 watt halagen
happy with my set up just up grading to a single row 10 watt cree
spot only dont think you need the spread on the sides they shine
to the sides pretty good as they are

Agree... I find 240 watt 30 degree spread in a single row perfectly adequate at night up to about 90 KPH give or take.

Any faster is 'overdriving the lights' and I use my HID spots for 100 KPH or more but hate the warm up time so I intend to swap to LED soonish
A pair of 150W 9 inch round in 30 deg maybe on the cards...
