Mud flaps

Hi all;
Does anyone know where I can get a full length mud flap?
I'm doing the Oodnadatta track in a couple of weeks and will be towing my trailer.
I did the tanami earlier this year with the trailer and all the rocks took a fair bit of paint off the front of the trailer and also flicked one up and smashed my back window.
This time il be putting cardboard over the rear windows but iv just mounted a new toolbox on the drawbar of the trailer and don't want to do too much damage to it.

You can also buy perspex stick on covers for the rear windows along with some
towing car bra type mud flaps

I made something similar to this out of doubled up shade cloth, some eyelets and bungee cord. Made up a bar that utilised the rear hook bolts and it worked a treat -cheap and easy. Protected the car and the van.

Iv got a couple of mud flaps from my dads truck that fit perfectly either side of the towball.
They say coburg truck parts but they're free so I'm thinking of mounting them on the towbar bracket.
Thought? Any issues with putting them here?
I did read somewhere a while ago that it can effect the rear diff temp, not too sure how true it is...

I got some old conveyor belting from a factory, really heavy duty, do you know anyone that could get some for you

( you may well laugh, but) The first 4b I owned and went on a trip with, I used a couple of the "Licorice Allsorts" mats.

I was surprised how well they worked. I mounted them on some angle iron with a piece of flat plate so it could be held in position using the tow ball.

My vehicle prior to the patrol, I used some conveyor belting, made 2 brackets that were bolted to the towbar mounts each side and had a couple of nuts welded to each bracket so the angle could bolt to onto the brackets, could bolt them on or take them off in a couple of minutes.

I kept the conveyor belting hoping that one day I may get to mount them in similar way.

ova 50 Ive seen 2 variations one is yours and the other was the steel mat with the woven coils both in Alice . X3 for conveyor belt. You should be able to find some decent second hand stuff. Just take a length. Shape it how you want it. Mount it how you like. I plan on making a couple of clamp mounts to the chassis similar to how sliders are mounted that sit under the body neatly and carry the belt. Then a small chain back up to a body mount so they don't drag under the wheel.

just saw a unit that has a 40mm tube with 2 shackles that attaches to the tie down points and conveyer belt attached to the tube
some chain that stoppes the mud flap from going back into the wheel arch
this was on a gu looked easy to remove and install
paramount browns here in sa have s/hand and in many withs

Is there an issue with tech screwing them to the towball bracket? Like structurally for the tow kit will a few tech screws holding the mudflaps weaken it?

Probably don't for insurance reasons ;can you use cable ties to get around your problem ? That would be a no no like drilling holes in the chassis .IMO
