Hey guys, I have a TB42E 92 model and I'm having cooling troubles.
I have done the following in this order:
- Removed the engine block plug and drain and flush
- Remove the radiator and all the hoses and flush and clean
- clean and flush the thermostat
- re-install the radiator and attach hoses
(1-2 week gap here)
- install new thermostat and gasket

So I did the Termostat and gasket today and the car is still overheating as i drive around the block....
What else can be the problem? I'm hoping that I don't have to take apart the water pump so if there is something else that i can check that would help.

I have the "Gregory Patrol manual" and it doesn't go into too much detail about this.

Thanks guys!

Yeah is it easy to turn,
Do you have bubbles in the water

we need more info, how quikly is it over heating, bubbles in coolant if you run it without the cap? pushing coolant out of overflow bottle?

Although the fan may be spinning the viscous hub may not be working / working correctly, if its a 92 model and never been replaced or serviced I would start there if the are no bubbles / milky looking water in the radiator

agree coupling suspect.
how loud is the fan when you start the car? should be fairly noisey.
a worn out coupling would normally allow fan to slip too much when car is first started, being a tell tale it's worn out, ie fan dB is low .
thus allowing fan to slip to much = not sucking enough air through rad.
also by hand spinning the fan "engine cold and not running of course", it should have a good deal or resistance to being spun by hand, a worn coupling spins very easily, more than 3/4 to 1 turn for instance is a good sign of suss coupling.

also Do ya know how old the rad is?, chance its blocked being the cause of o/heat.
try back flushing the rad again.
take it off and reverse the flow of water,
trick is to also introduce compressed air at the same time as the water.
purpose made tool, pipe with hose fitting and air line in also on its side.
air input by air blow gun or tap to intro blast of air
this stirs things up to help remove even more crap than water alone.

lastly does the engine seem to physically "radiate" heat as you describe , faulty sender ??
nissan temp senders have a bad reputation of being faulty.
the list can go on and on,
Humm, water pump is cheap to replace on tb engine, and very easy especially if ya have rad out.

Bumped for update, you may find the fan is cracked and brittle as well
You can service the fan hub with fluid from Toyota 3 bottles I think {small]
