To those guys that have a torque converter lock up switch, do the engine revs drop? when you switch it on with overdrive off.

That would depend on wether the factory lockup was on. assuming that it wasn't then the revs would drop if you were under power or if you were coasting would stay about the same. having said that the factory lock up will come into play in 2nd, 3rd and overdrive at around 2000rpms if you are not under power so the higher gear you are in the higher the speed will be before the factory lock up comes in . So manually locking the converter would not be noticed if the factory one was engaged until you put your foot down again when you wouldn't get a sudden rev jump but a steady rise as you built speed. The Wholesale Automatic's manual lock up will allow the gear box to still change gear with the convertor locked up though I wouldn't drive like that as it would be too harsh. Only engage it down hill with a low gear selected buy the lever or on the highway at speed in either "D" or "overdrive" or even "2" if conditions require so eg. towing through steep winding roads.
