Hey guys,

I decided to do the head of my GQ RB30.
I'm just wondering whether I need new head bolts.
AFAIK, the head bolts aren't TTY(toque to Yield) ones.

I did the head job just over 2 years ago, but that was a half hearted job,
mainly 'cos the head rebuilder did a crapppy job for me.
He machined it without fixing all the cracks and wanted to machine it again to fix that.
I didn't want that as I was bit concerned about going over the limit and causing too
much compression on the old bottom end. The crack was near the headbolts so it wasn't
a huge concern, so I put it all together and added Sodium Silicate(liquid glass).
It has been going ok so far without any water loss.
I just discovered a leaking welsh plug and thought it might be a good idea to do the welsh plugs and the head at the same time.

So, I gota do a good job, but not sure about the head bolts though.
Last time I used the same bolts, and worked out fine.
This time I'm not sure.
The bolt set is around $80, depending on where I get it from and depending on
different brands which I don't have a clue about.
If I go for genuine Nissan, I'm sure it will be lot dearer(and that's the one I would go for)
I would like not to use new bolts unless it's necessary.
The other thing is unless it's necessary, the original factory bolts in the GQ now are better quality than any after market ones, aren't they?

Thanx in advance for any advice.
