Hi all,

I installed a 2" lift on the weekend and then headed up to Barringtons and now in Port Macquarie. Just my luck that a new noise has started!

Driving down the highway this morning, a grinding noise started from somewhere in the front, sounds like it's coming from the LHS. When I slow down <20kmph the noise stops and there's a clunk like I've gone over a pothole. As soon I get over 45kmph the noise starts again!

I don't see any leaks and nothing seems to move when I push them around. Any ideas what I should look at? Anyone know a mechanic in Port Macquarie that could take a look?

Loose caliper on the breaks maybe? look through the wheel and see if any scratches on the disc.

Mine was like it was the auto hubs trying to engage.
Try putting into 4wd then back to 2wd again.

Sounds like what happened to me, my rhs auto hub decided to pack it in. Putting in and out of 4wd only helped for a short time
then it would grind again.

So all the noise started when you finished 4x4ing.
What rims are you running??

Sounds like auto hubs are too auto after all.
I've got manual hubs, I was considering putting on auto hubs, then started wondering after hearing auto hubs engaging when
they don't need to.
I was getting slack about having to go outside and turn it all the time when I need to engage the hubs.
Looks like it's not a bad thing after all?! :hijacked:

The bloke's issue can't be uni joints, 'cos he wasn't on all four when the noise started!?!?!

Or may be he engaged 4WD but, it hasn't properly put back on 2WD, and perhaps turning front axles at higher speed started making that noise?!!!
