3.0 issues need help

hi i have 2 issues with my GU (2000 model)
i got some bad fuel and since have had the check engine light come on.
The code is diesel pump out of timing have had additives to clean the pump etc and now it works great until the fuel gets under half a tank and the light comes on and it goes into limp home mode.
It also used some 3l of oil on the trip from bris to the cape and back...
car hass egr block off, catch can boost gauge 3.0 auto.
the tubo boost has been all over the shop too

Did you have your tank drained and cleaned after the bad fuel? If not, maybe there are contaminants still in the tank?

As Rock Trol says most likely a gut full of crap still in the tank

Sounds like somethings floating around in the tank.

there is an inspection plate in the cargo area,
so easy to check for foreign matter, need a torch too

Sorry for a slight hijack. Say there is something in the tanks or they're dirty on the inside, what's involved in cleaning them out? Obviously drain and drop the tanks, but what is used to clean out diesel tanks ?
When I got my car, being from Coober Pedy, I was told to maybe clean them out as the fine red sand from there easily gets in, during fills etc... Never got around to it.

Drop the tank/s and just use clean diesel to clean them out. Not much to it. Just time consuming.
