Driver's door auto-locking

Hi everyone
I have a 1998 GU Patrol 2.8 6-cyl diesel, and am very fond of it. Now the driver's side door lock will not lock or unlock with key access. Passenger side front door is fine but it is a bit embarrassing to climb in and lock/unlock from that side. Any quick-fix clues about this?

take off door lining and a small arm has fallen off needs to be put back on then will be ok or use the serch box top right
