They hold the black plastic surround on the rear plastic lights to the plastic bumper of the plastic GU.

Thanks TD Ill try them tomorrow. Trouble is this is WA everything is rare over here. Nobody stocks anything. End up getting stuff online from your side of the world like $5-00 per packet and $15-00 postage. Grrrrr.
Say a post here a short time ago for a valve to stop the rear washer from siphoning available at SCA. Went SCA in three suburbs here and " no we don't stock it here mate, but we can get it in from Sydney for you" I can get it on line myself. Double Grrrrr.

I don't have these as they are a PITA to put on and they end up falling off anyway. The best way to use two accelerator return springs for each light. Simply hook it to the metal clip that holds the light to the surround and then pull tight and hook it to the bumper bracket or where ever suits. They will never come off, and its piss easy to remove if need be. I did this to mine years ago and never lost a spring or had one unhook itself.
These clips are around $5 each from memory and you need a few per light. Two return springs was under $10.

Ok thanks for all the advice guys, my mind is now officially blown. Now I know where to get them (thanks Nisshead) I don't want them. Thinking now of elastic bands and superglue. Hang on, superglue won't stick to Tupperware will it? Damm.
Spring, string I dunno ........
I feel a Burbon coming on.
