I’m thinking about getting a continuous cross line laser level to assist with building my dwelling in the shed project & would welcome any advice or recommendations from tradies or diy’ers.

I’m thinking about this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pacific-Laser-Systems-PLS-180-Palm-Interior-Exterior-Horizontal-Vertical-Laser-/171840113382?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item2802780ae6

My reading suggests that the PLS is a top shelf bit of gear (with a new price to match) , and easy to place anywhere without need for a tripod. I can imagine it would be far more convenient to use inside the (steel) shed with the addition of a magnetic wall bracket than tripod mounting it (although I do have a camera tripod I could use it with).

The alternative I’m considering is a ‘lesser’ bit of gear, but likely still adequate for my purposes with a 20m range. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171839145158?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I’ve never used one, but they look straightforward enough to use? Gotta be easier than string lines, spirit levels & water tubes when I’m working alone ....doesn’t it?

Just be cautious of the amount of degree it can self level out. That unit is only 6 degrees. So imo a level floor.
Not just anything.
Sure the pls systems are top range but I think for the diy'er you can get a lot more for your money.
Father in law has one which is rotating 360 Lazer. Self levels to dam near 40 degrees.
