Diesel supply issues

I hope someone can shed some light on my problem. I have a GU 3lt. Patrol and I have a warning light telling me that I have dirty fuel which i don't , I have a new fuel filter installed. The truck is gutless when trying to take off from standing start. Could it be the diesel pump ?
Is there any way to check ?

Is the black primer button firm to pump, is it blowing black smoke????

Not sure on the ZD's but do they have the small filter on the inlet of the pump? Might be blocked.

The primer button is on firm and it is blowing black smoke

sometimes if you dont use genuine filter they give a blocked signel to the ecu and patrol runs shit
go back to original or put old one back in to see the difference
