TD42T crankshaft taper-lock cone fitting

I've replaced the front seal on my engine and was reliably advised that the taper-lock cone was a single-use item so I bought a new one.
The new cone won't fit without stretching it and I'm after info/advice on how to properly do this.
The manuals and searches I've done turned up nothing.

It's definitely the right one. I pinched the old one in the vice and brought it down to exactly the same shape as the new one.
I'll just open the new one out to the same spacing and fit it.

Ahh ok. it seems odd that it has to be opened up soo much, that worries me abit. Would you consider putting it the oven and preheating it to 100 degrees?

Nope, it was 12307-06J00. It's absolutely the same as the one I took out. They are now both absolutely the same shape/size/diametre since I pinched the old one in the vice.

Just rechecked on Partsouq and Z5000 is the correct part# for TD42T but they have 0 stock.

I'll take pics tomorrow to show them both with the same spacing.

Doesn't sound right. Partsouq want US$23.95 but they have no stock

Yeah got it confused with the na td42 one.

Patrolapart seem to be saying that it only needs to be changed if it's damaged but I don't like the idea that the one I took out is the same as the N/A one I bought.
I'll recheck them both tomorrow..

Ok, just ordered it from Partsouq. $51 with postage.
Bugger because I bought other stuff from them this morning. Only lost $15 so not too bad in the whole cost of this project.

Here I've squeezed the old one in to match the gap on the new one. You can see they are absolutely identical.. like 2 peas in a pod..
I put a + on the new one so I don't confuse them.
