So my tempriture guage is buggered. It goes strait up to hot as soon as I start the car in the morning and I have to tap the dash to get it back down. Il be driving along at normal temp and drive over a bump and it'll shoot up to hot again, tap the dash and it goes back down. It's very annoying.
Anyway I'm looking at buying either a separate temp guage or a scan guage. Not sure which one so I have a few questions.
The guage on the dash, does that show water temp or engine temp?
Scanguage, which model will work for me? (2003 gu3 zd). I like the idea of the scanguage because of all the extra features.
I have seen a few temp guages on eBay, which should I go for?
What are your thoughts? I don't want to spend a whole lot of money.

Scangauge for sure.. like you said you get a heap of features in the unit and i am pretty sure you can reset error codes with it.

Scangauge will only work with the CRD motors 2007 onwards. You would need ECUTalk (http://www.ecutalk.com/consultlcd.aspx) for yours
