How much force etc does it take to deploy the air bags? Will hitting a large roo at speed deploy them? hitting a tree when 4wding?

A roo will not necessarily deploy the air bag especially with a roo bar.
It's a pretty harshly to deploy airbags.

Planning on doing a trip to the cap and everyone I'v spoken to said they hit at least one or two roo's and or pigs....

So you would recommend, more light and slower speeds?
At what speed are they designed to deploy?

It's the impact not the speed.
On a corrugated road you'll need to ride the conditions.
A roo impact would probably need to be directly on the crush zone to deploy.

I've hit a few roos and one was at 80kph and all with no damage to the car bar 1 spotlight though when I hit some Bch that wanted to pull out I front of me at 60kph pushing my bull bar back onto the front rims no airbags were deployed.
I was talking to the ambos while they cut the woman out of her car and they said they usually deploy around 65-70 in a frontal hit.
