Will the manual hubs from a GQ fit a GU as I dont trust the auto locking hubs on the GU's

Yes but as others mention, why not convert your existing ones to manual.

When used and maintained correctly the GU Auto Hubs are equally as good as any manual version, Nissan or aftermarket, so can be trusted as such.

I read some where that the GU auto locking hubs even when converted to manual "engages only when set to lock" using a socket that the hub its self was weaker.?

Im no expert mate but I've had my auto gu hubs apart on many occasion and have converted them and to me they look stronger than the AVM hubs i had.
