GUIII 6cyl petrol 4.8l got towed to our workshop car will wind over. Checked fuel pressure all OK. Checked injector pulse with noid light all OK
Checked spark NO spark. Went looking for crank angle sensor this model uses the camshaft sensor as the pickup was lucky enough to be able to try a sensor from another patrol ----Did not start. I noted that with the key on the immobiliser light stays on. Got the key chip read and found a fault on one of the lines of coad . The key was the fault. Got the key reformated (my words to best explain ) and relearnt the key to the car. The car started stright away. Cloned another key so there is 2 car is fixed. From what the locksmith said he has never had a key lose this line of coad before.

Just thought i would share a odd problem and the solution

Pay no heed mate. Doggy is one of the mods on here and was only doing his job, hes a nice bloke really. We've had an influx of spammers on here of late, so when what could be deemed as an odd post, they tend to be jumped on fairly quickly.

Don't let it taint your thoughts on the forum, they're a good crowd and always willing to help if possible

Was it a genuine key or non genuine key?

I'm surprised that you carried out other checks before noticing the immobiliser light.

It seems strange that you have gone silent since Doggys attack. I do hope that he wasn't correct...
