I stumbled on the show on my TV guide last week in the middle of the night on channel One. I have TiVo so gave it a season pass meaning it will record all upcoming episodes.

Well I just watched 2 episodes and have to say that No Question The Best 4wd touring show I have ever watched. Informative, right on topic, no real blatant advertising or advertorial content. Educated and Informative.

Apparently you can see it at the website too and I have no idea if it is associated with a Magazine. Certainly did not indicate anywhere during the show that it was mag based.

Very impressed! Highly rated 1 hour show showing the best that the Aussie outback has to offer with very professional production.

Yeah it looks like it but there is zero advertising really in the show. Impressive content.

Really? If its the show I'm thinking of with the v8 cruiser? The way he was carrying on about steinbauer ruined it for me.

Yeah that's the one. I just watched that episode I think and to be fair that was 2minutes out of 50 and it was just naming a sponsor. The travel he is doing though was awesome and his understanding of geology and geography is great, I enjoyed it much more than anything I have seen produced by Pat Callinan or any of the other crews. He kept the content pretty real and targeted straight at us rather than the grey nomad.

Interesting. It was misinformative about the chip. I understand they need sponsorship but it just got to me. I will perserver next time and watch a bit more.

So its not the one with the Land Rover and the 60s
its the one with the American telling us how good the outback is?
Did not like it ,being one with the land and all that

Yeah his accent is a little odd but he sounds like he has been here since he was very young mate. Not much accent there. It put me off to start with as I couldn't place it because it was so vague. I worked past it and his knowledge and commitment to the Culture and history of the Outback was worth the pain. I enjoyed it and will make sure I watch and save for future research and planning of where I want to go. Can't imagine saying the same thing about anything Pat Callinan has produced.

This show has been around for years.... Mags cannot stand hearing his voice.

I did prefer it as it is a little more laid back and actually tells you some history and a bit about the areas he is visiting...

Oh and he doesnt drive a sell out Colorado or f%$king Beetle.......

Just watched his Simmo episode, pretty good. He doesn't try to "action" things up which is refreshing. reckon he's had more than his fair share of Peyote in his time though, haha.

Going to assume he's from Texas or something originally, but it definitely sounds like he's been here for a while.

Will definitely give the others a watch.

I liked Ian Johnsons 4x4 show he did in a ute of some description,
dont know what happened to him.
Yeah sick of the constant reminder to buy this and that.
It sounds a lot like cash for comment LOL
We already know which gear to buy so not sure where the target market is

Well MR I gave it another go, and tbh I dont like it.
The locations are fine and really showcases the outback,
but they way he describes everything drives me wild.
Very scripted indeed, nah I'll leave it thanks all the same

What, so none of the others are scripted?

when he starts waxing lyrical about the romance of the bush it does my head in . he get things ass about face and uses aussie expressions in the wong applications and his technical blurbs are over emphasized and/or are just not right . but a lot of the visuals of the country are just stunning . he probably needs someone else to write his scripts . I guess the bigger the production crew required the more advertising he will need to do , and I do like not being sold too every five minutes .

I find it boring... It seems like he just drives from one water hole to another for a swim and reads out poems....

Nice truck tho... for a cruiser anyway!
