I am not a 4WD owner, well I should explain further, I currently own a 2003 GU3 3.0l Diesel Nissan Patrol but I purchased it here in Adelaide to send it up on the Ghan to my son and his partner. They live way out in a remote community called Nhulunbuy and an auto Nissan out there is as rare as hen's teeth! Once the train delivers the Patrol my son will then drive it back from Darwin over 1000kms to Nhulunbuy. I paid $200 for a good 2 hour long mechanical check prior to purchase last week and currently have the car in for 5 new tyres, bearing checking and packing and wheel alignment. I'm just trying to do all I can to make the car safe and reliable for my son and his partner. So, I thought I would join this forum to pick up on any tips and tricks I can send his way, I hope I have not broken any rules by only being an owner for about 3 months until the Patrol is transferred into his name in the NT?

Hello and welcome you'll find a lot of Patrols are auto these days.
The Patrol with be driven in hot humid conditions, if anything needs changing
maybe get a thermostat to suit the tropical conditions.
Other than that ask away and enjoy
