Just after some clarification for installing a boost gauge.
I have a VDO boost gauge but not sure about fitting the line. A few of the methods I've seen are:
* Weld / thread onto piping pre-IC
* Weld / thread onto piping post-IC
* Weld / thread onto the IC
* T-piece on the wastegate pressure hose
Is one of these better than the rest? I'm comfortable with tapping a thread, never tried to weld before though.
What's the impact of getting a reading pre-IC vs. post-IC?
Where is the wastegate pressure hose located?

Anywhere after the turbo and before the intake manifold will suffice mate. The wastegate pressure hose will be a small hose, probably of rubber, that is on the actualturbo itself and goes from the turbo outlet to an actuator if some sort. Im On my tablet so its hard to link pics.

Hey mate, how about posting up an introduction here http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/forumdisplay.php?2-Introductions as it is a nice thing to do before asking for assistance...thanks

Appreciate the input mate.
I've read there can be a difference in pressure readings pre-IC vs. post-IC. Do you know if it's a significant difference?

I fitted one to my RD28, pick a small rubber hose, any rubber hose. Mine works great.

Thanks for everyone's input, finally got it in and working.
I had a look at the local Enzed but the bloke couldn't find a T-piece to suit the hose, so I went to Bunnings and picked up a Tap & Die Set for ~$70. When I got home, I emoved the IC, carefully drilled a hole on the outlet side (used a 21/64th metric drill bit), tapped a thread (1/8th thread), cleaned the filings from inside the IC, then wrapped some yellow gas seal thread tape around the VDO bit and screwed it into the new hole. The hardest part was figuring out how the hose was secured by the nut & olive at the gauge end (keep tightening!).
Following advice on this forum or patrol4x4.com, I wired the gauge into the dimmer and she's all good!

Will you be fitting an EGT gauge as well,
having both gauges makes it great for diagnostics
and tuning
