Just I thought I give these guys a plug, I received my chip 3 weeks ago and found that they had sent the wrong harness for it. I called them and I basically was very disappointed with them, however we can help human error. I asked them if they could expedite the harness where they said that was not possible and advised that I would have to wait another 10 days for it. Anyway after I had spoken to them in the UK, I received an email from them to advise that they are refunding $200 for the inconvenience. Now you cant complain about that, so I got my chip plugged it all in took about 10 mins and seriously just a complete transformation, its no V8 but certainly very noticeable. However EGT through the roof under heavy load which is too be expected because of the intercoolers on the 3.0l which are about the size of your hand.

Advice to anyone looking to get a chip for the CRD, don't put one on unless you have a pyrometer to monitor EGT. Mine was getting up 650 plus going up a long steep hill flat stick. I wouldnt dream of towing anything unless I do something about the high EGT's. I have a HP Diesel series 2 intercooler kit, airbox lid, catch can and boost controller coming next week to hopefully sort out the high EGT's for when I am ready to tow again.

The patrol runs really nice and I am happy with it but certainly would like to achieve dropping 100deg in EGT.

What will happen if you motor goes bang and the cause is the chip? Are you covered from the chip company?
Put a bigger exhaust on and your egts will drop more.

You also need to be able to increase the boost when you get the bigger intercooler. More boost will cool the engine down. A Dawes valve would help in this.
CRD's run hotter than Di's so the 650 degrees when going flat chat up a hill are actually not too bad. People have recorded standard CRD's getting up to 800 without ill effect. As Mudski suggested get a bigger exhaust as well. Engine will run cooler and hopefully your exhaust manifold won't warp (common on CRD).
