just. Installed the xtrons TD699G head unit, connected the camera and all working.
However when i put the car in reverse the headunit switches over to a black screen stating no device detected

Checked camare all is fine.. I know its in my wiring..

Connected from the back..

Positive and negative to the reverse light
Positive red tag lead from the RCA plug also to the reverse light
Yellow rca to yellow rca (video)
Black male rca to red female rca (must be for power)

To the head unit
Yellow jack into the r-cam jack
Red tag lead to the brown "back" wire

Black screen
Changed the red tag to the 12.v blue wire and i can only get an image if i select F-cam on the head unit

What am i doing wrong?
Help is appreciated..
ThanksDazz

Hi do not think so, not going near the brakes or the circuits.. only wires being tapped from the original car wiring is the + and - of the reverse light..

If you only get an image in "F Cam" when testing and haven't moved the yellow RCA video in from "R Cam" to "F Cam" on the back of the unit then most logical issues are either

a) you have the RCA yellow video jack in the wrong input socket, maybe mislabelled or whatever so try it in the other socket
or
b) if you have swapped video jacks for testing the "neg of the reverse light" is confusing me a bit try rev light positive and an earth for the Cam power
or
c) you might have a defective unit

IE, the Head Unit is seeing the selection of reverse gear OK and the Cam works if powered and viewed on the F Cam selection so either the Cam has no power in reverse or the vid is going to the wrong jack

If the Cam has LEDs check that they come on when reverse is selected may help to narrow down if it is power related
