A newbie to this forum

Hi everyone. My first post. I picked up a 1995 RX 2.8 diesel tonight for 800 bucks. No dents, no rust but has a blown head gasket. Whats the likelihood of this turning into a cracked head. Oil is milky but engine still runs. Are these known for cracking heads or mainly just blowing head gaskets? Also can anyone tell me when the update was in 1995? Mine is 9th month. Cheers all.
