Bonjour to all,
I recently baught in Tunisia a patrol 3.0 Di (year 2001) with an upgraded TD42 atmo engine which serial Nr is TD42 145285.
Could anyone help knowing when ( year) this engine was built ? (is it before or after 1996) or is it with a 28 mm piston pin or a 30 mm piston pin. This information is important to guide selecting the right full renewal kit for this engine. Thanks in advance for your help and information . Best regards from Tunisia. BabaRiadh:harhar:

Well it still could be either from what I know.
I think after 1995 the larger pin was used. If it helps. The changover was August 1995...

So being a black top, they are the later TD's, which came out in the later GQ's and all GU's.
I think this is how it goes....Silvertop and N/A blacktop 28mm gudgeons, Factory turbo black top 30mm gudgeons. So if its a non turbo we would assume its 28mm, if its the factory turbo motor, it will be 30mm.

my non turbo blacktop has 30mm gudgeons, post 95 blacktops have a few shared parts with the later T-motors.
