Hi Everyone

Getting organised for doing a service on my ZD30 in the next few weeks.

Went to Supercheap today and priced up the filters :
Ryco Oil filter $34.50
Ryco Air filter $39.99
Ryco Fuel filter $38.50
Totaling $112.99 + oil at $90 - $100 for a 10 liter tub.

So then looked on ebay and found this:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-PATROL-GU-3-0-TURBO-DIESEL-FILTER-SERVICE-KIT-/250870541898?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item3a690cae4a

Opinions????
What is everyone using?

I think the western filters deal is good gear , if you go onto their website you can order extra oil filters as most people change oil more often than air filters , and still pay the same delivery price ( I think ? it is a long time since I looked ) .
there are other mobs doing similar things so search the web . with oil it is not really a good thing to stock to much as it can deteriorate over time , well not so much the oil as the additive package in the oil which is important for diesels ( anti wear agents and detergents )

Thanks for the replies. I think I will order those filters so that I have them here for when I need them.
My Third 256 - that oil price was for Penrite HPR at supercheap. I Don't remember seeing Dello 400 on the shelf. Maybe I'll go back and have another (better) look.

Western Filters are good to deal with and just ask who their filters are rebranded from if in doubt.

Hi Nixon

I don't know what others are doing with their fuel filters, but I change mine every 2nd service unless I have reason to think that I may have got dirty fuel and then I'd do it at each service. It's pretty cheap insurance compared to replacing an injector pump, or injectors.

Thanks. Have had felt the effects of a dirty filter previous - not good on a highway when overtaking a B double and cough cough, loss of power. Sensing that I need to be a little more regular.

Thank you. I had better get into that habit as well. I have been a little slack.

Was under the impression that genuine filters were recommended over after market. I think the reference document explained why with some filter test results.

It's a good ebay deal though. I'm looking at my next service (which will be my 1st patrol service on the CRD).

This is what I thought and stick to as well. Local repco bloke even strayed me away from buying their oil filter and said go up the road to Nissan and buy a genuine one.

Can't remember exactly his reason but he did say if I ever get a chance cross cut the genuine and and their one, and you will see the difference . So I don't know...

I wish it were different. I have a sister who works for Donaldson... So cost price [emoji52]

The original filters aren't that much more expensive from what I've seen & considering how much we spend to protect our engines and fit NADS etc, saving a few bob on filters isn't logical.

Might want to get a K&N filter well 2 really and keep one oiled and ready to go.
That will save you some money depending on the Ks you do and where
