Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster.

This is my 3rd GU patrol, and hopefully my last for a while.

Bought it around 9 months ago now and have spent a fair amount of cash and time on getting it where it is today, but still has a few bits to go.

Its a 2002 GU Coilcab 4.2 turbo, I bought it off a farmer around 3 hours away from Perth and started modding in the following week.

It came with a 2 inch lift, LPG Injection, winch, stock bar and scrubs / steps, cracked windscreen and pretty rough but it was a good runner without the chassis rust I had in my last one so I was quick to buy it.

Since then I've done :
3 inch EFS lift
Safari Tuff clutch
Fatz airbox lid
3 inch exhaust cut to under tray
Auto meter boost / egt gauges with pillar mount
Boost tee
Factory top mount intercooler with scoop
Custom canopy cage with heavy rip stop canvas
42 Inch lightbar on roof
ARB underbonnet compressor
20% tint
Electric window conversion
ST seats, custom fitout in the middle with waeco fridge and cupholders
Alpine ILX007E, Reverse cam
Alpine slimline sub, type s speakers
Twin 38L engles
Redarc Dual battery system, 120AH deepcycle
Procomp 15x8 wheels, 35inch federal muddies
Hi mount jack custom mounted
LED taillights
s3 headlights
Safari snorkle
Bonnet protector
Running 16PSI on LPG/Diesel

I've set it up to be a tough tourer, still barwork and a couple more things to go but so far i'm fairly happy how it is.

Hopefully get it all ready and out on the tracks soon, Cheers for reading.

I like the interior shot Those Waeco fit a few 4x4 just right.
Plenty of info here on solar , what do you want to use it for primarily
just topping up the batteries over the weekend or more remote camping situations.
Have a search plenty written, save writting it all again

lol yeah that rims gunna stay polished ha ha ha

Welcome to the forum and glad you could join us.

I'm not an expert on solar, but I run 2 x 120w panels on the roof of my pod. I have them at a slight angle so the water can run off them. If you want to see my set up, click on the link on my signature.

Take care out there.

I just got 1x 120W panel and I just want to use if for keeping my fridges running during the day so it doesn't drain my battery as I keep stuffing my 2nd battery by draining it too much. I know I need a reg but im not sure what else ill need? I was looking at a redarc BCDC but it was going to cost around 1k for the setup. Cheers for your help guys. The wheels are good when they stay on the car, not so much when they fall off doing 100k and your mate cops a tyre.5809558096

A 100watt panel will probably return about 7ah on a sunny day.
Off your 2nd battery run some decent cable terminated with a 50 amp anderson plug
front and rear then just plug your panel it which ever is closest to the sun, run cable about 5mtrs so you dont get much voltage drop
after that it gets $$$$$.
As I said I run an 80 watt panel and use led lights for camp my battery is a 115 AH wet cell trojan.
there are more complex set up here but Im of the KISS school, never had a flat battery yet
and been using the panel for years now over 20 I think, still doing what it should.
Not a fan of fixed panels as you need to park your Patrol in the sun, makes the fridge work harder
just doesnt make sense to me
