This is my version of installing DRL's on a GU Patrol. Leds I used are Eagle Eye Leds with five each side. I used a five pole relay to turn the DRL's off when the headlights are on. Simple to do and IMHO looks pretty good.... :)

Those bulls eye lights have a nut on the back so you just
need to drill a hole poke the wire through and tighten the nut
I'll grab a pic for you

Wiring is pretty simple. All 10 leds are wired in parallel, -ve to -ve, +ve to +ve. The +ve lead is wired to a 5 pole relay and uses the NC (normally closed contact) and the relay picks up ignition battery from the wiper motor (blue lead I think). So when the ignition is turned on, the DRL's are lit. The relay coil is wired to the right hand headlamp, so that when the headlamps are turned on, the relay operates and the DRL leds are extinguished. They stay on when the parking leds are lit.

Mounting is easy as TD suggested, drill the hole, feed the wires through and tighten the nut up. Leds cost me $14.20 for the 10 and were sent from Sydney, the relay was about $4, so all in all, a pretty cheap mod to do and they look better than the pic shows....:)
