Hey all

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rubber-wheel-Arch-Flexi-Flare-45mm-for-Nissan-MQ-Y60-GQ-GU-for-Patrol-Navara-/291410913500?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item43d971a8dc
Just wondering if anyone has mounted rubber flares to the wheel arch using just the existing screw holes. Not keen on drilling new holes or Tek screws.

Thanks all

Andy

I don't think it would work only using the existing holes mate.

Oem flares are a hard compound and flexy flares are a lot softer.

You could try it out but I reckon you'll have sagging between the holes.

I didn't like drilling holes either but used ss rivets and silastic on the rivets when putting them on.

Ensure a tighter spacing of rivets on the more tighter curves of the arches too.

In fact thinking about it more I reckon it would look like a bag of poo using the existing holes mate.

Cheers Andy. Trying to visualize it, and I think you're right. But SS rivets and silastic is a great idea.

No open exposure to rust, no screw ends under the flaps. I always need to get my hands under there when cleaning mud and its a nice clean smooth finish.

Take your time on ensuring closer rivets in the curves mate, minimum 100mm on curves and maybe 150mm on straights.

Stupid new phone won't let me do multiple photos.... My car is a bit dirty...lol

Cheers for that. I like them a lot. What size flares are those? Do they hold their shape?

Bush ranger 65mm flexi flares.

I like them a lot mate, hold the shape perfect but only because of the wire insert. Without the insert they would be very floppy but you can shape it easily with the wire.

Great thread.

I'm in the same predicament, too. lol. A bit more work than split rims, but well worth it.

I bought a roll of ORE, 'Flexi Flares Pack' in 65mm width. It came in a 3 metre length, fixing screws and spring steel wire inserts. I just need the time to work it out and fit them.

Thanks for the advice about how to fit them.
