Time for an oil change and seeing SCA had 25% off oils yesterday and today I lashed out
and brought 10ltrs of Penrite 5-40 diesel, I'm currently running this oil and find it ok.
I have no oil leaks [touch wood] so no need for thicker oil yet,
Boy are there plenty of different oils to suit it can become very confusing.
feel free to tell us what oil you use and for how long and what you think of it

Love Penrite - used it all my life.
In this country we can pretty much use any oil 10 or lower to 40 or more. The lower the first number the better and the higher the last number the better, but first number 10 goes down to -18 deg or so and last number 40 is good to +50 deg. What you have bought is good for a range of -30 to +50 deg so will be great. The only other things to look for is the API service classification which will be printed on the bottle somewhere. Anything over SJ, SL ,SM or SN I think is OK, but check the application label. Good brands will be OK but unknown brands may not have all the classifications on the label and should be avoided.

Be aware of some real cheap aftermarket oils that have say 15-40 without the W. The W is important. 10-40 is not the same as 10W-40.

I have used Penrite oils in the 5w40 and 15w50 both are good, but I did notice when I used the 15w50 I had less blowby when working the motor hard.

Valvoline Super Diesel 15W-40 in the 10 litre drums. Never had any issues & makes changing oil easy as just drop the first 10ltr tub in then top up.

penrite for the win. Have always used HPR30 in the tb42e and it's never burnt a drop of oil. Used to use Nulon in the wifes VZ and it used to drink the stuff. Switched to Penrite and no more drinkie drinkie.
