just about to purchase a 05 patrol with 07 engine but every now and then apparently goes into limp mode was told fuel pump issue but fuel pump people said it wasn't the pump?? anyone else had any problems once reset goes back to normal until the next time any help appreciated

It could be just overboosting causing limp. Do you have a dowes valve on it?? Boost gauge?? Is it a CRD motor?????

picking it up Friday so will be able to check into it with more detail but current owner said it only happens every now and then so thinking not to serious just enough to be a pain in the arse!!

07 motor sounds like a CRD.
Perhaps the change over was not done properly.. ECM issues??????

is it a crd or not if it is you could be buying a pain in the freckle.

Wait till you get it home and then after you know all the info
post it up who knows someone may be able to help,
So you think it has a CRD in a Di body correct??

also doesn't say what pipe it has or egr block could be spooling to quick

It will be serious enough mate when your at 100ks and half way overtaking someone and limp mode decides to kick in. It could put you in a situation mate. When you get it, post up more details if you can. I wouldn't be leaving this issue personally. ..

Mate if it has issues why buy it could be an accident waiting to happen
