Hi All,

Bought 4 of these the to attach as reversing lights and had a couple of questions

http://www.ledlightco.com.au/mini-light-bar-6-18-watt-6-x-3-watt-chips-flood-beam/

What colour wire on the GU is the reversing light? Want to tap into it so these only are on when reverse is engaged. Would it be possible to tap into the GU factory wiring based on the 1.35amp power draw or do I need to run new wiring?

Also what mm wire is suitable for 1.35amps? I've got existing wiring on my GQ I was hoping to use.

From memory its the yellow wire. Splice in behind your reverse globe or passenger side kick panel. I can't answer your question regarding the current you can run through the existing loom as I just used it as a switch wire for a relay

thanks lucus I'm thinking a relay will be the way to go, then can have a switch attached and turn em on manually, the GQ already has that.

Work on 1.5 amps per lamp, 2 of them will pull 3 amps.
The reverse light power fuse may also supply other systems depending on vehicle and model so it may blow

If they don't have a dedicated wire I would run them thru a relay as Lucus suggests

Whats the best way to attach it at the globe? I was just having a look and maybe its me but I can't work it out.

Cheers

Strip the insulation off and solder it. Don't use those crappy scotch locks whatever you do

Take the insulation of the +ve wire on the globe and solder that and my +ve wire from the light together?

Yeah mate. Or use it as the switching wire for a relay, then just use some leccy tape and tape it all up. Otherwise cut the loom solder it and heat shrink it

i'd like to do it properly just worried about snipping the loom. I'll look at her tomorrow as I'm running out of daylight. Wish I had a shed to work in. Appreciate your help Lucus cheers mate.

Thanks lucus I've soldered her on just waiting for it to get dark so I can test its working properly, the one on the GQ was easy as I already had some on it and have just replaced them.
