Wiper problems

I am having issues in my GU Patrol with the wipers, if I turn the key to the on position my wipers work, but once I turn on to start it blows a fuse, I took it to a Auto Elec and they worked fine, once I got it home it blew another fuse, as any one had a issue like this.

Wagon or ute?. I take it's the front wipers? Does it have intermittent front wipers?

I'll guess it's fuse 3 that keeps blowing?

Fuse 3 only supplies power directly to the wiper motor and windscreen washer pump (unless the vehicle has intermittent front wipers).

I would start by checking the wiring harness under the bonnet. Start at the wiper motor and follow the harness towards the washer bottle. See if you can see any signs of damage to the harness or possibly something that may have been mounted on the inner guard and has caught the harness.

You can also have the wipers on while doing this, that way you can see when the fuse blows.
