Hi all,
My name is Kim, and i am from Norway.
I have had some problems With my 2000 model ZD30 engine, and have done a lot of diagnostics my self, at a Nissan dealer and a Bosch service centre, but no one can tell me why my car loose power uphill. So after ma last visit to the Nissan dealer, i took out the injectors and got them tested. And what do you know. 2 of them were alright, and the other 2 was not good, one of them pissed at 170 bar. So i finally thought i have sorted out the problem, but i was disappointed to find out the it helped wery little when i installed brand new injectors. So i started to think there might be a problem With the head gasket or the head it self. Especially since my coolant fluid have started to disappear, but my problem with low power uphill was there before my coolant level problem.
My next step is to take of the head to inspect for cracks in the gasket or the head itself.
Things that I have done to sort out lack of power is:
Changed the MAF sensor.
Changed the boost sensor.
Changed fuelfilter and airfilter.
Checked for leaks in the turbo pressure lines.
Checked EGR valve operation, and have now blocked it off. I have also installed a pressure valve to reduce for overboost.
Checked every sensor there is in the engine room with multimeter and scoop meter for puls on the crank position sensor and the turbo vacuum solenoid.
fitted brand new injectors.
inspected my exhaust and removed the catalyst converter.
Installed a boost gauge to check my boost.
Bosch service centre have done diagnostics to the diesel pump and checked all fuel lines and tank.
checked the PNP switch, so it shuts off when I put my car in gear.
So my last option is to check the head gasket and head for cracks.
My question to you guys is:
How common is a head or gasket cracks?
Can it also be cracks in the cylinder block as well? I guess I have to replace my engine if that is the case.
I have found some used engines, but is it possible to fit a engine from a 2007 y61 patrol in my 2000 model y61?'
My car info is:
Chassinumber:JN1TESY61U0001572
Motorcode: ZD30DDTI
Sorry for bad English grammar
