I've seen lots of brackets and straps for 4kg gas bottles, but what is the best way to secure a 2kg or any of the smaller gas bottles?
Thought about sticking it in a spare milk crate and using straps with some padding around the bottle. Takes up a bit more room than I'd like but should be pretty solid.
What does everyone else do?

Roofy has a little bracket on his roof rack for a gas bottle, hopefully he comes along and sees this.

Just found these guys online. http://www.gbholder.com.au/ Good idea but if carrying a 9kg I prefer to sit it inside a milk crate (fits perfectly) and strap it down. Rhinorack do a strap setup for a 4kg so maybe copy the idea to suit your 2kg, here is a link to it http://www.rhinorack.com.au/products/load-securing/gas-bottle-holders/gas-bottle-holder-4-0kg-_rgbh4

IMO would be easy enough to fab up a bracket that holds it tight yet allows easy release,
Inside a milk crate sounds good to me

A Milk Crate is fantastic if you need to do any under bonnet maintenance while out on your trip so having it on the roof with your gas bottle in is a winner.

I've heard that storing gas bottles in milk crates causes static. Not sure how true and if it did would that be a problem?
