I'm thinking of buying a 3lt turbo Patrol brand new runout, so I assume it's a 2014 model. I would appreciate any advice as I've heard and read some nasty things about the 3lt motor. Good idea or bad.

Regards,
Wonder.

Hello Mudski,
Thanks for that, I'm trading in my Harley, so hopefully I wont have any problems. Also I wont be towing anything so I assume that will help.

Welcome to the forum mate, feel free to ask any questions.

Some people don't read the introductions section so feel free to throw up another thread in the general mechanical section or the GU Patrol section.

You could give some more details if you feel like it, such as km's, modifications, price, etc and any concerns you have.

Hope you get it anyway and join in the community we have here :)

Welcome to the forum mate. The 'hand grenade' stories are really only relevant to the earlier Di's. The CRD's had it sorted out and yours will be a very late model so should have all the latest improvements.

I know you might think I'm an airhead, but what about the NADS?

I know you might think I'm an airhead, but what about the NADS?

NADS is nissan anti detonating system.
Basically you first fit a boost and egt gauge in a pillar pod or similar
then you fit a Dawes[manual boost contrl] and a needle valve, block the EGR and take all the thinking away from the ECU.
Mainly for the Di's but benificial to the CRD as well
ps no air head questions here we try to answer all if its possible

Haha Nothing bad just a learning exercise!! Twisted steering box output shaft ( splines noticeably screwed around) !! Slid off drop whilst full lock to left !! Didn't think it was anything at the time but steering wheel left upside down afterwards so went looking !! Didn't expect to find problem there at all !!
